I brought my dog to this emergency vet because her stomach was severely bloated and swollen. She was vomiting, passing foul-smelling gas, and was clearly uncomfortable. As any pet owner would be, I was extremely worried and wanted answers. What I found frustrating was the cost of even basic diagnostics and treatment. I was quoted around $1,000 just for imaging and hydration to determine what was going on in her stomach. The exam alone was $140, and when I explained that the $1,000 estimate was simply not feasible for me, the alternative “preventative” treatment plan was still around $400. The veterinarian informed me there was a “gray area” visible in my dog’s stomach or intestines but could not clearly explain what it was or where it was located. Despite this uncertainty, I was reassured that everything was likely fine. The overall communication felt vague and dismissive, especially considering the amount of money being requested. As someone who works in healthcare, I understand that diagnostics and emergency services cost money, but the pricing and lack of clear answers felt excessive. In the end, I purchased a single ondansetron tablet for $27, took my dog home, gave her a bath, monitored her closely, and by the next morning she was completely back to her normal self. I understand that emergency veterinary medicine is expensive, but this experience left me feeling like pet owners in stressful situations are being presented with extremely costly options without enough transparency or justification. Don’t get taken advantage of by them when in emotional situations you really have to use your logic. After reading similar reviews from other clients and having this experience myself, I will not be returning and would not recommend this clinic to friends or family.
