I would give this zero stars if possible.
I brought my dog in today for grooming and a routine checkup. For context, she’s almost six years old and weighs about 4.5 pounds. (pic in the profile) The grooming itself turned out great, no complaints there.
Unfortunately, the exam was a completely different story.
From the start, the veterinarian had little to no bedside manner. There was no effort to build trust or even properly introduce himself to my dog he just jumped straight into handling her. This was her first time at this clinic and her first time meeting him, so naturally she was a bit unsure.
When he abruptly pulled her ear to examine it, she snapped.....a clear signal that she was uncomfortable and needed a slower approach. Instead of adjusting or trying to ease her, he immediately labeled her behavior as “not acceptable” and an "unruly patient" he refused to continue certain parts of the exam, including checking her teeth.
I calmly offered to help, even suggesting I hold her myself and reassuring him that she does not bite. He still refused, stating he wouldn’t risk himself or his staff. While I understand safety concerns, it wasn’t the decision itself, it was the tone, lack of patience, and overall dismissive attitude that was unacceptable.
When I expressed that I didn’t want to continue the exam, the situation escalated further. He stormed out of the room and went into the back, where I could clearly overhear him speaking about me to his staff. That level of unprofessionalism was shocking and completely inappropriate!!!!!
Veterinary care isn’t just about clinical skill it’s also about reading animals, building trust, and communicating respectfully with owners. That was completely missing here.
It's so sad that this one individual makes this whole entire place trash.

The doctor did a great job on the tooth extractions on our Shiba. The reason I am giving 3 stars is because of the scheduling person and customer service problems.
Unfortunately, the front desk girl is very brusk and rude, and gives me conflicting information whenever I try to schedule. It happened the first time I called to schedule, and when I came in and dealt with her in person. It was a very unpleasant experience. Then I tried to call again for my elderly cat to get her a dental appointment since she broke her canine pretty far up and I think she is in pain, and she told me we could schedule a cleaning and said that they only take teeth out when medically necessary, and I said yeah I'm pretty sure it needs to come out it looks pretty bad, and all she did is refer me to a different vet clinic in Salt Lake! So you're probably losing customers for multiple reasons because of her.
I then told her that the last time with our dog we scheduled a consult first so that we found out what teeth needed taken out, and she said oh yeah we could go that route with you, but told me she couldn't get me in for that ten minute consult for another 3 weeks, even though my cat is in pain, and last time they told me they could even have a tech do that part and that they just couldn't perform the actual dental work. I wouldn't even have minded waiting a bit for the procedure because I understand being busy and not being able to get on the schedule right away, but I think not being able to find out the problem and the severity to know whether I even need to get her on the schedule for dental extraction could have most likely happened sometime before that, or she could have even kindly offered to put me on a cancellation list since this isn't just for a dental cleaning.
I mainly want to put this review up because I don't know how else to let the doctor/owner know that she is awful to deal with. I used to be a business owner and I would have definitely wanted to know! Hopefully she can get re-trained on how to treat your customers, or if she's not willing then hopefully you get someone who is willing to do better. I would love to bring my business to you again in the future.

Out of the vets in Tooele I still think this is the best choice BUT with that being said don’t call yourself an animal HOSPITAL if you can’t make an room for emergencies especially for animals that have been coming to see you for YEARS. I needed to bring my cat in that I have brought to see you every few months for at least 5 years and JUST got blood work done a few months ago with you that I don’t understand how you weren’t able to catch the problems he was having before it became an emergency and was told you couldn’t see him for WEEKS and that I should just go take him somewhere in Salt Lake. And when I did I learned of an alternative to his shots like I have been asking for for years so now I feel like you just wanted to put my cats health at risk so you could just keep making money. Why do all the Tooele vets have to SUCK so badly do better.

****UPDATE****
12/26/25
Came to pick my friend’s dogs up from boarding before the weekend, and there was nobody there. I arrived at the office at 4:25 PM, and they had a sign next to their door stating that their hours for December 26, 2025 was 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, but the office was clearly shut down and locked up for the day. That is a horrible customer experience and now my friends are looking at additional boarding costs. They did not provide enough food for their dogs to last through the weekend, meaning that they are going to be fed food that is going to upset their stomachs which is going to cause accidents throughout the week Because they were not given their regular food. If you are going to post hours, then you better have somebody there to Work. I even contacted his father‘s veterinary office and they didn’t have any type of contact information for me to be able to reach out to somebody to let them know that I was there to pick up dogs.
