I really appreciate all the vets at Roy Animal Veterinary clinic. They have always done an excellent job taking care of my dogs and taken the time to explain everything in detail. I can’t say enough about the care we’ve been given here. They also send me notices so I don’t have to keep track of when their boosters or shots etc are due. This is nice when you have three dogs to keep track of. Last summer my 9 yr old Maltese male had gotten a foxtail stuck on the inside of his cheek unbeknownst to us. It became quite infected by the time we could bring him in and required surgery to remove it. They did such a remarkable job. Poor little man was so sick and now you’d never know it. Hair grown back and he acts half his age. I will always give these vets a 5 star review. Keep up the good work and Thank You for taking care of my babies all these years.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I need to share what happened with my dog, Morgan, because I don’t want anyone else to go through this. The lack of clear communication and the stress we went through was truly unacceptable, and I hope others can avoid what we experienced. On May 7, 2026, we were scheduling Morgan’s surgery with Dr. Wynn Palmer. During a prior appointment, Dr. Wynn Palmer personally explained exactly how he would perform the surgery and what to expect. When we were scheduling, the front desk told us it would be with Dr. Zac Talbot. I immediately said we didn’t want Dr. Zac Talbot doing it, as he had previously misdiagnosed a corneal ulcer in Morgan’s eye, calling it a genetic issue and not recommending treatment. Later, another vet correctly diagnosed it, and eye drops healed it in 10 days. After I declined Dr. Zac Talbot, the front desk checked and told us Dr. Wynn Palmer would do it, so we agreed. But the next morning, we showed up, and they told us Dr. Zac Talbot would be doing it after all. I was completely floored. I asked to speak with the manager, and instead of taking responsibility, Manager Liz Seeds accused me of being rude for being upset. What disturbed me most was when Dr. Wynn Palmer, who was actually in the clinic that day, openly justified having Dr. Zac Talbot do the surgery because “he needs practice.” If Dr. Palmer had been out of town or had the day off, I could have understood, but he was right there in the clinic and still refused to do the surgery we had scheduled with him. After everything, hearing my dog treated as a “practice” opportunity was horrifying and emotionally devastating. No pet owner should ever be made to feel that way. I want to be clear—I didn’t just go along with this lightly. I was put on the spot, trying to make a decision under extreme pressure. Looking back, I might have made the wrong choice, but at the time, I was also facing my own medical appointments the following week. I didn’t know if those would escalate into a bigger health issue or even require surgery myself. So, despite my deep discomfort, I agreed to let Morgan have his surgery then, even though I didn’t fully trust the situation. This wasn’t a one-time problem either. In the days leading up to this, I received conflicting messages from different vets about a growth on Morgan’s foot. Dr. Wynn Palmer said it should be removed, while his wife, Dr. Michelle Palmer, insisted we leave it alone. I was left scrambling, unsure who to trust. When I asked for clarification at the front desk, an employee claimed he had consulted with both vets and that both vets said not to remove it. Later, after speaking directly with Dr. Wynn Palmer, I learned he had never been consulted—he explained he always recommends removing a growth, and the front desk employee lied. This deliberate misinformation left me completely confused and eroded all trust. In the end, Morgan made it through, but I was left completely drained. The whole thing was a roller coaster of fear, confusion, and broken trust. I can’t forgive how little accountability they took, and I would never recommend this clinic to anyone.
